After taking a first
glance of Charlotte Kennedy, it’s obvious that she loves fashion. “I like color and sparkles.” Charlotte
mentioned when asked about her fashion sense, which mostly deals with vintage pieces mixed with funky accessories. Having
such an interest in fashion, along with music, you could classify her as an artsy person. Mostly interested in the folk and
indie star genres of music, she would rather listen to John Mayer over rap any day. “I could never listen to it seriously.”
she commented on rap music. With her love of music, she and three of her good friends created a band called Liberators, Charlotte
being the guitarist. Mostly for fun, she likes to play John Mayer and Jewel songs, or even her own. Charlotte also has a slight interest in reading. Her list of favorite books is topped by
Martian Chronicles, a sci-fi book about life on mars.

When she’s not listening to music or doing what she does best, sleeping, Charlotte is spending time with friends and family. “My parents are surprisingly cool, for parents and all. I love them, and my sister is like my best friend.
I miss her a lot, but I’m proud of her for going to college.” Her older sister, Catherine, is currently attending
Emerson, but graduated from Hanover this past year. Charlotte
and her family like to spend time together by having family meals and hanging out. “My mom spends like three hours making
dinner and gets all excited like ‘I made something for ya’ll!’.” It must be hard fixing dinner for
her family. “It’s like, I’m a vegetarian and then my step-dad is a carnivore.” Her family also enjoys
taking trips together, Kiawah Island, South Carolina
being her favorite to this day.

“I don’t have
that much free time; it’s like one thing right after the other.” Charlotte’s schedule does seem to be quite hectic.
She goes from swim team practice (she has to leave her house at 4:30 am!), to school, and then
home in time to do homework and get things ready for the next day. Swimming is Charlotte’s
thing you could say. Ever since she was 6, Charlotte has swum
for numerous teams, Burkwood Aquatic Club, or BAC, being her favorite. Charlotte
also plays tennis; she even played for Oak Knoll in her eighth grade year. In her hectic schedule she managed to fit enough
time on Sunday nights for her must see television show, Flight of the Conchords.
“He’s creepy, but boring and funny.” was Charlotte’s
response when asked why Jemaine is her favorite character from the show.
If there’s one thing Charlotte cares about, it’s the environment. Not only is Charlotte
a vegetarian, she’s also an activist. She is hoping to be the leader of the EPA, or the environmental protection agency,
someday to fight against global warming. It is obvious that because of her beliefs, Charlotte
is an over-all determined and caring person, who just likes to have fun and be happy.
